Dominic Leclerc - Selector

As Resident Director at Sheffield Theatres he worked as Assistant Director for Michael Grandage on Don Carlos, Philip Wilson on Ain’t Misbehavin’, Kathy Burke on Blue/Orange, Jonathan Kent on Lear and Jonathan Munby on The Comedy of Errors. Choreographer and Movement Director for Much Ado About Nothing, The Unthinkable, The Little Fir Tree and Girl in the Goldfish Bowl.

Theatre Directing/Choreography includes: Insomnia, Witness Me, Dystopia (all won National Student Drama Festival Awards); Blue Remembered Hills (Warwick Arts Centre); The Master and Margarita (Edinburgh Fringe); Innocence (BAC); Blue (The Old Vic); Agamemnon (The Point, Southampton); Fledgling (Riverside Studios/UK tour); Protect Me From What I Want (Young Vic); Circelation (Arts Council Project); Almost Blue (Riverside Studios, Associate Director/Choreographer) winner of the Samuel Beckett Award, She Lies With Me (Wired Ariel Theatre); The Architect (Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama); Falling and Shadowmouth (both for Sheffield Crucible). Assistant Director with Neil Bartlett on A Christmas Carol (Lyric Hammersmith); Kathryn Hunter on The Birds and Nicholas Hytner on His Dark Materials (both for the National Theatre). He has also worked with Frantic Assembly on Heavenly and was invited to take part in National Theatre Directors’ Programme.

Additional Choreography credits: King John (Royal Shakespeare Company); On The Marionette Theatre (National Theatre); The Little Mermaid (Sphinx Theatre, UK tour).

Awards: Dominic has won the Oxford Samuel Beckett Award, the Channel 4 Regional Theatre Director Scheme, the David Fraser Bursary (ITV). He has been shortlisted for the JMK Menzies Kitchin Award.

Forthcoming directing work: Emmerdale (ITV); Unidentified Human remains and The True Nature of Love (Warehouse Theatre)
